7 Signal Group was established on 27th November 1975. The unit lineage started in 1934 as 5 Brigade Signal Company re-designated in 1940 6 Armoured Division Signal Regiment. On 27th November re-designated 7 Signal Group.
7 Signal Group consisted 7 Division HQ Signal Unit, 71 Brigade Signal Unit, 72 Brigade Signal Unit and 73 Brigade Signal Unit.
This is an example of a pair of 7 Signal Group flashes. They are a metal based badge faced in coloured epoxy resin, secured by three stick pins.
Note: Many formations have left and right handed badges and some have the colour sequence also handed.
The 7 Signal Group insignia is simply a yellow figure ‘7’ on a shield of the Signal Corps colours of Green, light Blue and Dark Blue.
Pocket or Breast badge
Breast or Pocket badge (right) is a size reduced shield of the same construction and design as the larger shoulder flash. It is secured by two stick pins to a leather or vinyl fob and is buttoned on to the breast pocket.
